I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada — the city that never sleeps. So that might explain my ability to fire on all pistons with very little rest.  I attended college in California and Nevada.  I graduated in 2000 from Princeton Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Education.  Before coming to St. Peter’s I was on the pastoral staff at Mercer Island Presbyterian Church in the Seattle Area for 13.5 years. I am married to Devon, a clinical psychologist, and we are crazy in love and proud of our two kids – a teen and pre-teen.

My Short-Term Childhood Ambition was realized winning the Bike Rodeo at my elementary school in the 4th Grade.  I completed the figure eight on my bicycle with no hands like a champ.  It was AWESOME!

My Long-Term Childhood Ambition was to be a part of something that would change the world.  I think the church is just that.  I am (we are) always a “work in progress.”

What inspires me?  People inspire me.  I have the best “job" in the world.  I’m humbled to do what I do because I have the unique opportunity of being invited into very sacred spaces of people’s lives.  I get to hear and learn from their stories. Sometimes I hear stories of where God is present, tangible and alive with them.  Other times, as I listen, I am able to point out where I see God tangibly present with them when they cannot.  People and their stories inspire me.  Anywhere.  Anytime.

In My Spare Time, I like to go on long walks or a run by the ocean, travel with my family to beloved destinations, people watch in big cities and do pretty much anything outdoors with good friends and family. I’m pretty good at binge watching the latest Netflix series with a bowl of Frosted Flakes too.
